Timing of Therapies for Patients with Resectable Hepatic Colorectal Metastases

In this month's ASCO connection, I introduce the concept of oligometastasis, which is a state of limited spread of a cancer that could potentially be curative. I learned a lot about this concept when I was a fellow at University of Chicago doing research with radiation oncologists, Drs. Weichselbaum and Hellman who coined the term. It would be amazing to design a predictive marker/signature that can help us determine tumor biology so we can make better decisions prior to performing surgery!
